  • You will work within a multidisciplinary team with core responsibilities centred around the performance and completion of echocardiographic examinations.

    Your responsibilities include attending to patients and visitors, and working to optimise lab quality, productivity and interoperability.

    Education and Training:

    1. Must be a graduate of an accredited program in Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Adult Echocardiography.

    2. Current certification with Sonography Canada/ARDMS and registered with CMRITO

    Types of tests performed:

    2D Echocardiography

    Contrast (definity) studies

    Exercise Stress (Treadmill) echocardiography with / without contrast

    Agitated saline bubble studies

    Required Skills:

    Participates in the day-to-day scanning and reporting of echocardiographic studies

    Ability to set up peripheral IVs (training is available)

    Proficient with M-Mode and 2D Echo Doppler

    Experience in Stress Echocardiography and Contrast studies.

    Prepare accurate reports for physician interpretation

    Strong communication, organisation and time management skills

  • You will work within a multidisciplinary team with core responsibilities centred around the performance, interpretation, and completion of various cardiac diagnostic tests including ECGs, Holter monitors, Exercise (treadmill) Testing, Exercise stress echocardiography and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM)

    Job Type:

    Education and Training:

    Current C.S.C.T. registration and CME required

    Current CPR certification

    Responsibilities:

    Supports physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral vascular ailments.

    Detects irregularities while monitoring all cardiac tests and reports to attending physicians immediately.

    Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety, and preparation are correct prior to testing while maintaining patient confidentiality.

    Performs all cardiac testing techniques including Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter scanning, Holter monitoring, and ambulatory BP monitoring in compliance with CSCT guidelines.

    Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required.

    Work in accordance with related policies, health and safety legislation, and best practices

    Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards.

    Ensures equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner.

    Prepares reports as required.

    Aids patients in filling out Patient History Forms and Consent Forms.

    Maintains required departmental records. Corrects delinquent medical records.

    Other duties as assigned
